BIOGRAPHY
Sam Mustipher was born on August 13, 1996, in Owings Mills, Maryland. He is a Center for the Chicago Bears in the NFL.
He plays center for the Chicago Bears in the NFL. In his early years, Mustipher attended Good Counsel where as a sophomore in 2011, he was named to MaxPreps U.S. Air Force Sophomore All-America first team as a defensive lineman while as a junior in 2012, he helped an offensive line average 5.4 yards per rushing carry and only 16 sacks. He also was a second-team Washington Post All-Met pick as a junior in 2012 as he helped top-ranked Falcons rush for 2,374 yards and capture fourth straight WCAC title. In his senior season in 2013, Mustipher played on both offensive and defensive lines, helping Falcons finish 6-5. By the end of the season, he was named to Maryland Private School all-state squad, was named to USA Today American Family Insurance All-USA D.C. team, was a first-team offensive lineman on Washington Catholic Athletic Conference all-league squad, and was named to 2013 Maryland consensus all-state squad on the offensive line.
After he finished high school, Mustipher committed to the Univerity of Notre Dame where as a freshman in 2014, he was one of four freshman offensive linemen who spent the season on scout team and did not see the field while as a sophomore in 2015, he played in nine games on special teams and as a reserve offensive lineman. As a junior in 2016, Mustipher started all 12 games at center and was part of the offensive line that paved the way for 417.6 total yards per game. He also helped running back Josh Adams run for over 100 yards four times against Nevada, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and USC, including a career-best 180 yards at rival USC on November 26th. As a senior in 2017, Mustipher started all 13 games at center and did not surrender a sack or quarterback hit and yielded just six quarterback hurries in 889 offensive snaps. He was the seventh highest-rated center in terms of run blocking in the country by Pro Football Focus with 8.9 and was part of the offensive line that paved the way for the seventh-ranked rushing offense in the FBS with 269.3 rushing yards per game. In his fifth year in college, Mustipher started all 12 games at center and made his 36th consecutive start against USC
After he graduated from college, Mustipher entered the 2019 NFL Draft where he was signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent.
