Sam Koch was born on August 13th, 1982, in York, Nebraska. He is a punter in the NFL.

Koch walked on to the Nebraska football team, where he played punter, and later would receive a scholarship before the start of the 2004 season. He was named to the 2005 2nd-team Academic All-Big 12 squad and the 2005 Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring and Fall Academic Honor Roll. He racked up a career-punting average of 44.1 yards. He graduated with a degree in business administration. He has been with the Ravens since he was drafted in 2006. In 2017, Placed a league-leading and career-high 40 punts inside the 20, punting 84 times for a 44.8 gross average and a 40.3 net average. He also added an NFL-best 16 punts in the 10. Additionally, he earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after placing 5 punts inside the 20 for the second-consecutive game and punting 6 times for 308 yards (51.3 avg.) in the 23- 16 win vs. Hou. (11/27). Koch enjoys spending time speaking to children at schools about living an active lifestyle and focusing on well- rounded achievement and educational priorities. He also spends his down time working on projects around his house, with a knack for craftsmanship.
