Sam Hubbard

BIOGRAPHY

Sam Hubbard was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 29, 1995. He is a Defensive End in the NFL. 

Hubbard attended Archbishop Moeller High School and played safety for the Crusaders, and helped the team to state titles in his junior and senior seasons. He earned first-team Division I all-state honors as a safety in 2013. Also a standout lacrosse player at Moeller and was committed to playing collegiately at Notre Dame, before ultimately opting for a football scholarship at Ohio State. In Ohio State, he played 40 career games and totaled 116 tackles, including 29.5 tackles for loss and 17 sacks. Hubbard helped OSU to a combined record of 35-5 during his three seasons of action. He received a first-team Academic All-American, three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and a three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete. 

Hubbard attended the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis and completed the majority of combine drills,  but opted to skip the 40-yard dash and bench press. Hubbard participated in linebacker and defensive end drills at the combine. In the 2018 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Hubbard in the third round and signed him to a four-year, $3.61 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $929,200. In September, Hubbard recorded his first career sack against the Baltimore Ravens. In the Bengals 2019 regular-season opener, Hubbard recorded two sacks and a career-best 10 tackles against the Seattle Seahawks. He signed an extension with the Bengals in 2021.
