BIOGRAPHY
Roderick Seals-Jones was born on March 15th, 1995, in Houston, Texas. He is a tight end in the NFL.
Jones attended Sealy High School in Texas where he was a two-sport athlete. He contributed to the football team and was named a Parade Magazine All-American in basketball.
After finishing high school, Jones committed to the University of Texas where he played college football for Texas A&M. As a freshman, he played in two games wherein one of them, against Rice, he had his first three collegiate receptions for 84 yards, which included a 71-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Matt Joeckel. As a sophomore in 2014, he finished the season with a single reception for 21 yards against West Virginia in the 2014 Liberty Bowl. In 2015, he played in all 13 games and on October 3, he scored his first receiving touchdown of the season against #21 Mississippi State while on October 17, he had his best collegiate performance against #10 Alabama with six receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown. He finished out the season with three receptions for 18 yards and a touchdown against Louisville in the 2015 Music City Bowl. As a junior in 2016, in his final game with the Aggies, he had six receptions for 34 yards and his lone touchdown of the 2016 season against the Kansas State Wildcats in the 2016 Texas Bowl. After the 2016 season, he decided to enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
On May 2, 2017, Jones was signed by the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent but was waived on September 2, 2017, and was signed to the practice squad the next day. He then was promoted to the active roster on September 25, 2017. On September 25, 2017, in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys, Jones appeared on special teams and made his NFL debut. In Week 11, against the Houston Texans, he had recorded three receptions for 54 yards and the first two touchdowns of his professional career. e finished the season with 12 receptions for 201 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games and one start. In the 2018 season, Seals-Jones played in 15 games with five starts, recording 34 receptions for 343 yards and one touchdown.
