BIOGRAPHY
Quinnen Williams was born on December 21tst, 1997 in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a defensive end in the NFL.
Williams attended Wenonah High School in Birmingham, Alabama. In high school, he was known as an athletic big man who could play as a tackle or defensive end depending on the defensive scheme. He was known to chase the ball, hurdle offensive lineman and make plays all over the field. He received two offers out of high school and originally committed to Auburn University but ultimately selected to play for Nick Saban at the University of Alabama.
After redshirting as a freshman at Alabama in 2016, he played in all 14 games, recording 20 tackles and two sacks for the Crimson Tide, and had two tackles in the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship victory over the Georgia Bulldogs. In 2018, he named a Unanimous All-American, an honor given annually to the best American college football players at their respective position. He was also First Team All-SEC, an SEC Champion, and won the Outland Trophy, awarded to the best college football interior lineman in the United States, judged by the Football Writers Association of America. On January 11th, 2019, Williams announced that he would forego his remaining years of eligibility and enter the 2019 NFL Draft.
Williams was selected in the first round with the third overall pick by the New York Jets in the 2019 NFL Draft. Williams is the younger brother of Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Quincy Williams. The Jets picked up the fifth-year option on Williams' contract on April 26, 2022. In Week 6, Williams had five tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal in a 27-10 win over the Green Bay Packers, earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
He was selected to his 1st Pro Bowl in 2023.
