BIOGRAPHY
Nick Allegretti was born on Apil 21st, 1996, in Frankfort, Illinois. He is a guard in the National Football League.
He studied at the University of Illinois and is a guard for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. In his early years, Allegretti attended Lincon Way-East High School where he was a Three-star recruit by ESPN.com, Rivals, Scout, and 247Sports. He ranked as the No. 8 center in the nation by Rivals and Scout, and as the No. 11 center in the nation by 247sports. He was also ranked as the No. 19 player in Illinois by Scout and as the No. 20 by Rivals. Allegretti was a consensus first-team All-State and Chicago Sun-Times All-Area in 2013 after anchoring an offense that averaged over 30 points per game and reached the IHSA Class 7A quarterfinals. He had 56 pancake blocks in 2013 and 125 career pancakes, was a 3-time All-Southwest Suburban Blue selection and did not allow a sack during his entire junior and senior seasons.
After he finished high school, Allegretti committed to the University of Illinois to play college football. As a redshirted freshman in 2015, he played in all 12 games as an offensive lineman as both Center and Gaurd and on special teams as a Field Goal protection. He also saw time at defensive tackle in two games against WIU and UNC. He made his Illinois debut against Kent State, playing on the offensive line at both center and left guard and was an Academic All-Big Ten. As a sophomore in 2016, he started all 12 games, 11 at guard and one at center. He started at center in place of injured Joe Spencer in the season opener against Murray State and was an Academic All-Big Ten. As a junior in 2017, Allegretti was a team captain, an All-Big Ten honorable mention, was a Pro Football Focus All-Big Ten second team, was a Big Ten Sportsmanship Honoree and an Academic All-Big Ten. He started all 12 games, eight at guard and four at center, having a 99 percent of the offensive snaps, leading Illinois in offensive snaps. By the end of the season, he was on the AFCA Good Works Team watch list, on the Rimington Award watch list and was a Wuerffel Trophy nominee.
In his senior year, Allegretti was the team captain for the season, an All-Big Ten second team, an All-Big Ten honorable mention, a Pro Football Focus All-Big Ten second team and a Phil Steele All-Big Ten third team. He played and started at guard in all 12 games, rating as the No. 3 guard in the nation by PFF, the No. 2 guard in the Big Ten by PFF and the No. 11 pass-blocking guard in the nation by PFF. Allegretti only allowed one QB hit allowed and zero sacks allowed in 394 dropbacks according to PFF, rating as the No. 6 run-blocking guard in the nation by PFF. By the end of the season, he was a Big Ten Medal of Honor Recipient, won the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, was part of the Hampshire Honor Society, was an Uplifting Athletes Rare Disease Champion Award finalist, a Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year semifinalist, a Campbell Trophy semifinalist, was a Senior CLASS Award candidate, a Wuerffel Trophy nominee, an Academic All-Big Ten and a PFF Midseason All-Big Ten on October 18, 2018. After graduating from college, Allegretti entered the 2019 NFL Draft where he was selected in the seventh round by the Kansas City Chiefs.
