Morgan Fox

BIOGRAPHY

Morgan Duane Fox was born on September 12th, 1994, in Fountain, Colorado, He plays defensive end in the National Football League.

In his early years, Fox attended Fountain-Fort Carson where he was a first-team All-Conference selection during his senior year. He also an honorable mention All-Conference selection, a first-team All-City selection, and an All-State Game selection. During his senior year, he made 112 tackles, eight sacks, five fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles. He was also named the team's defensive MVP and top defensive lineman. 

After he finished high school, Fox committed to the University of Colorado State where as a freshman in 2012, he stepped in immediately as a freshman, recording two tackles against West Texas A&M. He was credited with a half-sack against New Mexico Highlands. He finished the season with 10 tackles. As a sophomore in 2013, Fox made an appearance in all twelve games, starting them as well, having an amazing 45 tackles for an average of 8.5 yards a loss, and six sacks for 41 yards. With such a great performance on the field, he received defensive player of the week for the Thunderwolves and was named to the second team All-RMAC. As a junior in 2014, Fox was a Daktronics All-Super Region Four Second Team, a Beyond Sports Network Foundation All-Super Region Four Third Team, an All-RMAC First Team Defense, and a National Football Foundation–Colorado Chapter First Team. Fox appeared in 15 games at defensive end for the Pack and recorded 57 total tackles, 27 were solo efforts. He finished second on the team with a career-high 12.5 sacks and his 18.5 tackles for loss were also second on the squad. Fox recorded one forced fumble while recovering two fumbles and totaled three pass breakups.

In his senior year in 2015, Fox was named a finalist for the Cliff Harris Small College Defensive Player of the Year and was honored as the runner-up for the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year Award, was an Associated Press Little All-America Second Team, an AFCA All-America Team, a D2Football.com All-America Second Team, a D2CCA All-America First Team, a Don Hansen All-America First Team, a D2CCA All-Region First Team Defense, and a Don Hansen All-Region First Team. He also was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and All-RMAC First Team, a USA College Football Division II Preseason All-America First Team, a Preseason RMACDefensive Player of the Year, and a Preseason All-RMAC. Fox finished first in the nation in sacks per game with 1.42, while the 128 sack yards was first nationally and in 12 games he totaled 17.0 sacks to rank second in Division II and his 15 solo sacks were also second. He finished 17th nationally with 1.8 tackles for loss per game and has totaled 21.5 tackles for loss resulting in -137 yard and finished the season with 52 tackles, forced and recovered a fumble and added one pass break-up. 

After he graduated from college, Fox entered the 2016 NFL Draft where he was signed by the Los Angeles as an undrafted free agent on May 4th, 2016. On September 3rd, 2016, he was waived by the Rams as part of final roster cuts but the next day, he was signed to the Rams practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster on October 8th, 2016,  was released on October 11th, 2016, and was re-signed to the practice squad. He was promoted again by the Rams on December 15, 2016. On September 10th, 2017, in the season opener against the Indianapolis Colts, Fox recorded a safety for the Rams when he took down Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett in the end zone. In the 2018 season, the Rams reached Super Bowl LII where they lost 13-3 to the New England Patriots.

On May 18, 2022, Fox signed with the Los Angeles Chargers.
