BIOGRAPHY
Max Garcia was born on born November 9, 1991, in Norcross, Georgia. He is a guard for the Denver Broncos in the NFL. He attended Norcross High School and played college football originally for the University of Maryland before transferring to the University of Florida.
During high school, Garcia was ranked No. 51 nationally among offensive tackles by Scout.com. He was ranked No. 52 nationally among offensive tackles by Scouts, Inc.
Garcia originally attended the University of Maryland, he was one of only five Terps to play in and start all 12 games. He started every game at left tackle and made his first career start in Maryland’s victory over Miami. Garcia transferred to the University of Florida, in 2012 he was named the Scout Team Player of the Week against BGSU, LSU and Florida State.
In 2013 during his first season as a Gator, he started all 12 games, playing mostly left guard and left tackle. Garcia was named a team captain against Vanderbilt, he won the Scrap Iron Award following the Toledo, Tennessee, and Arkansas games.
In 2014 he transitioned to center in the spring and started every game at the position as a senior. He was selected to the All-SEC Second Team by the league’s coaches and Third Team All-SEC by Phil Steele. Garcia played in the 2015 Senior Bowl. He was selected as the Fergie Ferguson Leadership Award winner as voted on by his teammates. He had over 35 knockdowns and was a two-time SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week, against Eastern Michigan and Georgia. He was voted for captain for the season by his teammates Garcia earned the Gene Elleson Community Service Award for his efforts off the field and also earned the Iron Gator Strength & Conditioning team award. He helped an offensive line that allowed just 16 sacks on the year, third-best in the SEC.
Garcia was drafted by the Broncos in the fourth round, 133rd overall, in the 2015 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut vs. the Baltimore Ravens on September 13, 2015. Garcia made his first start at left guard vs. the New England Patriots on November 29, 2015, seeing action in all 79 offensive snaps at both guard spots. On February 7, 2016, Garcia was part of the Broncos team that won Super Bowl 50. In the game, the Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers by a score of 24–10.
Garcia was named starting left guard for the 2017 season. Max Garcia has played for multiple teams throughout his NFL journey and is currently playing for the Arizona Cardinals for the National Football League. On March 14, 2019, Garcia signed with the Arizona Cardinals.
On March 14, 2019, Garcia signed with the Arizona Cardinals. He was placed on the reserve/PUP list to start the season while recovering from knee surgery. He was activated off PUP on November 6. On March 26, 2020, Garcia was re-signed to a one-year contract by the Cardinals. On March 22, 2021, Garcia was re-signed to a one-year contract by the Cardinals.
