BIOGRAPHY
Matthew Judon was born on August 15, 1992, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is a linebacker in the NFL. Judon attended West Bloomfield High School and played college football at the Grand Valley State University.
During high school, Judon was named to the Spinal Column Newsweekly All-Area football team after collecting 89 total tackles, including 16 for loss, and six sacks. He was named to the All-Oakland County Football Second-Team by the Oakland Press.
Judon played for the Grand Valley State University football team from 2011 to 2014. In 2011 Judon played in each of the final seven games. He recorded 14 total tackles (9 solo/5 assisted), two QB sacks (-24), two tackles for loss (-24) and a fumble recovery. In 2012 Judon played in eight games with eight starts, he led all defensive linemen in tackles, recording 37 total tackles (18 solo/19 assisted), 7.0 tackles for loss (-28) and 3.5 QB sacks (-19), and forced a fumble, picked off one pass and notched three QB hurries. In 2014 Judon recorded 72 total tackles (36 solo/36 assisted), 19.0 tackles for loss (-84), 8.5 QB sacks (-66) and 12 QB hurries, led the GLIAC in QB sacks and ranked second in TFL.
The Baltimore Ravens selected Judon in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. On May 5, 2016, the Baltimore Ravens signed Judon to a four-year contract.
On March 19, 2021, Judon signed a four-year, $56 million contract with the New England Patriots.
In Week 5, Judon had two sacks in a 29-0 win over the Detroit Lions, earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Judon surpassed his career high in sacks by Week 11 against the New York Jets, recording 1.5 sacks and reaching 13 on the year. He finished the season with 15.5 sacks, which was fourth in the NFL, along with 60 tackles, two forced fumbles, and three passes defensed.
In 2023, Judon made his 4th Pro Bowl.
