Mason Rudolph

BIOGRAPHY

Brett Mason Rudolph III was born on July 17th, 1995, in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He is a quarterback in the NFL.

During high school, during his career, Rudolph passed for 10,986 yards and 132 passing touchdowns. Rudolph was rated by Rivals.com as a four-star recruit and was ranked as the ninth-best pro-style quarterback in his class. Rudolph played for the University of Iowa football team from 2014 to 2017. In 2014 Rudolph’s 273 passing yards against OU were the second-most ever for an OSU quarterback in a Bedlam Series game and his two touchdown passes that day tied for third-most ever for a Cowboy against the Sooners. In 2015 according to ESPN Stats, his 40 completions on passes thrown at least 20 yards down the field tied California’s Jared Goff for the national lead among Power Five conference quarterbacks. He surpassed 300 yards passing six times and 400 yards three times. In 2016 Rudolph was the only player in the country in 2016 who surpassed 4,000 passing yards while throwing less than five interceptions. At one point of the season, he threw 164 consecutive passes without an interception and he finished the season with a second streak of 123 consecutive passes without being picked. He was ranked in the top 20 of several NCAA rankings, including passing yards (eighth with 4,091), passing yards per game (seventh with 314.7), passing yards per attempt (10th with 9.13), passing yards per completion (10th with 14.40), pass efficiency (10th at 158.9), total offense (12th with 319.4 yards per game), passing touchdowns (20th with 28) and completions per game (20th with 21.85). In 2017 Rudolph led the FBS with 4,904 passing yards and 377.2 passing yards per game. He was ranked second in the FBS with 21.7 points responsible for per game, second in the FBS and led the Big 12 in both total offense and total offense per game and he earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors after completing 23 of 32 passes for 497 yards and five touchdowns in the Cowboys’ win at Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Rudolph in the third round (76th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. On May 23, 2018, the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Rudolph to a four-year contract.
