BIOGRAPHY
Mason Cole was born on March 28th, 1996, in Chicago, Illinois. He is an offensive lineman in the NFL.
In his early years, Cole attended East Lake High School where he was a four-year starter for the East Lake football team and was a participant in the 2014 U.S.Army All-American Bowl and he was also a first-team all-state player in Florida during the 2013 season. After he finished high school, Cole committed to the University of Michigan in February 2013, passing the offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, and Ohio State. In his freshman season in 2014, he earned a first varsity letter and appeared in 12 games, making 12 starts making his collegiate debut and first career start against Appalachian State on August 30, becoming first true freshman in Michigan history to start a season opener on the offensive line. In 2015 as a sophomore, he appeared in 13 games, making 13 starts at tackle, to earn his second varsity letter while in 2016 as a junior, he played in all 13 games at center and earned his third varsity letter and was in the All-Big Ten second team. He made his first career start at center vs. Hawaii on September 3. On October 1, Cole started his 30th consecutive game in the victory against Wisconsin and was named Offensive Lineman of the Game. Cole was also a preseason watch list member for the Outland and Rimington Trophy awards. As a senior in 2017, he was an All-Big Ten honoree and an All-Big Ten selection by the Associated Press. Cole also earned Offensive Lineman of the Game recognition for his performances against Cincinnati, Indiana, and Rutgers and tied Jon Jansen for most consecutive starts for a Michigan offensive lineman against Ohio State as a senior and broke that record the following week in the Outback Bowl against South Carolina on January 1. He then accepted an invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl.
On January 27, 2018, Cole played in the 2018 Reese's Senior Bowl as part of the Denver Broncos. He then decided to enter the 2018 NFL Draft where he was selected in the third round by the Arizona Cardinals and on May 31, 2018, the Arizona Cardinals signed Cole to a four-year contract. On May 31, 2018, the Arizona Cardinals signed Cole to a four-year, $3.32 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $761,516. Cole signed a three-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 17, 2022.
