BIOGRAPHY
Korey Cunningham was born on May 17, 1995, in Montevallo, Alabama. He is an offensive tackle in the NFL.
During his college career, he was recruited to Cincinnati as a tight end, switched to the offensive line and went on to appear in 45 games with the Bearcats … closed out his college career by starting the final 24 games he appeared in and earned All-Conference honors as a senior in 2017.
2014: Served as part of an offensive line that tallied the second-highest yardage total (5,982) in school history ... Bearcats ranked in the top five in the American Athletic Conference in scoring offense (2/35.4 points), passing offense (2/300.2 yards), rushing offense (4/157.6 yards) and total offense (2/457.8 yards) ... UC only allowed 16 sacks, which ranked second in the conference.
2015: Appeared in nine games as a sophomore … played a key part on the offensive line as the Bearcats ranked fifth nationally in total offense (559.4 ypg), fourth nationally in passing offense (373.1 ypg), and fourth in the conference in rushing offense (186.3 ypg).
2016: Started 12 games at left tackle as a junior … was on the field for 831 of UC’s 850 total offensive plays.
In 2017, Cunningham was the second-team All-American Athletic Conference selection and was named one of UC's senior tri-captains. He anchored an offensive line that gave up nine fewer sacks than it did in 2016, ranking in the top half of the league according to ProFootballFocus.com.
Cunningham was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the seventh round (254th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. On May 11, 2018, he signed his rookie contract. He started his first career regular-season game in Week 11 against the Oakland Raiders at left tackle in place of an injured D. J. Humphries and started there the next six games. He suffered a foot injury in Week 16 and was placed on injured reserve on December 25, 2018.
On August 28, 2019, Cunningham was traded to the New England Patriots for a 2020 sixth-round pick.
