Team Tammie

On Saturday February 20th Tammie suffered a brain aneurysm, just 8 short days ago. This news I know will hit you like a ton of bricks and leave you trying to catch your breath as it has ours. Tammie is currently recovering at UCSF Medical Center. On behalf of Keelan and our family and a million more people both near and far we asked for your prayers. She is being treated by the top Neuro and Cardiovascular Surgeons, ICU nurses and several experts. Tammie is a fighter and we know she will find her way back to us and rebuild her life brick by brick. We miss her laughter, smart mouth, giant bear hugs and her one liners that will leave you either laughing or scared. While our hope is that she will make a full recovery we have come to understand that the road she faces is one that is not a straight line. Rather, it is measured by progress and setbacks and simple accomplishments. It’s a marathon you never want to run. Tammie will call UCSF her home for the next 8 to 10 weeks and then transition to a rehabilitation facility for many months...all in all it will take her about a year to recover. To what degree she will fully recover remains to be seen, but if you know Tammie then you know she will fight like heck to get back to her old self ASAP. As you can imagine there is much to consider and plans to be made.
