Julio Jones was born on February 8th, 1989, in Foley, Alabama. He is a wide receiver in the NFL.
Jones attended Foley High School where he played football, basketball, and ran track. In football. In football as a wide receiver, he caught 75 passes for 1,306 yards and had 16 touchdowns in his junior year. He participated in the High School Under Armor All-American Game. He was considered a five-star recruit by Rivals.com and listed as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation in 2008. He also competed in track where he was a State Champion in the long jump and triple jump. He was named the 2006–07 Gatorade T&F Athlete of the Year in the State of Alabama.
Jones committed to the University of Alabama and played all three years for Nick Saban from 2008 to 2010. In his first year as a true freshman, Jones played in 14 games and recorded 58 receptions for 924 yards and four touchdowns. Jones was a First Team ALL-SEC selection, Second Team Selection, SEC Freshman of the Year, and SEC Coaches' All-Freshman Team. In all three years at Alabama, Jones caught 179 receptions for yards and 15 receiving touchdowns. He helped lead his team to an SEC championship and a BCS National Championship in 2009.
Julio Jones was selected with the sixth overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Jones has spent his entire career with the Atlanta Falcons and has solidified himself as one of the best receivers in the NFL. In only eight seasons, Jones has caught 698 receptions for 10,731 yards and 51 touchdowns. In tandem with Matt Ryan, Julio has set multiple NFL receiving records and in a short amount of time. He holds NFL records for the most games with 250+ yards receiving, most games with 300+ yards receiving, most seasons with 100+ yards per game, the fastest to 7,000 career receiving yards in 72 games, the fastest to 9,000 career receiving yards in 95 games, and fastest to 10,000 career receiving yards in 104 games. In addition, Jones has recorded the Most 100+ yard games in his first eight seasons with 52, the most receiving yards in first 100 games with 9,618 yards, and the most receiving yards per game average with 96.7. Jones is a six-time Pro Bowl selection, two-time First-Team All-Pro, and a two-time NFL receiving yards leader.
Prior to the 2019 season, Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons agreed to a three-year $66 million extension which includes $66 million guaranteed.
In the 2020 season, despite only playing nine games due to injury, Jones still managed to finish 41st in receiving yards among 499 qualified players for the 2020 season, finishing the 2020 season with 51 receptions for 771 receiving yards and three touchdowns. In 2021 he was traded from the Atlanta Falcons to the Tennessee Titans.
In 2022, Julio Jones signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jones signed with the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2023 season.
