BIOGRAPHY
Joejuan Lamont Williams was born on December 6th, 1997 in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a cornerback for the New England Patriots of the NFL.
He attended Father Ryan high school; Contributed 21 tackles and an interception return for a touchdown as a sophomore. As junior at Father Ryan, registered 48 tackles, two interceptions, and 11 pass breakups as in 2014 and earned All-State and All-Conference honors as a junior. He did not play as a senior; he also participated in track & field.
He played college football at Vanderbilt University; in 2016 he was one of six true freshmen to see action, he played in all 13 games. He recorded 14 solo tackles among 19 total stops and a defensed pass.
In 2017 as a sophomore he took control of the cornerback role and started every game at cornerback in the Commodore secondary. He was able to establish several single-season highs, including 33 solo stops, 39 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, ten defensed passes and a forced fumble.
During the 2018 season as a junior, he earned All-SEC honors from both the league head coaches and Associated Press. He started 12 games while appearing in all 13 games, earning a reputation as one of the Southeastern Conference’s top cornerbacks. He finished the regular season with several single-season career highs, including four interceptions, 18 passes defended, 48 solo tackles and 61 total tackles. Williams topped the conference with 14 pass breakups and 18 passes defended.
The New England Patriots selected Williams in the second round with the 45th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
