Jared Cook was born April 7, 1987, in Birmingham, Alabama. He is a tight end in the NFL.

After attending the University of South Carolina, he was drafted 89th by the Tennessee Titans. Cook finished his rookie season with nine receptions for 74 receiving yards in 14 games and no starts. After the Titans, he decided to sign with the St. Louis Rams. After 3 years with the Rams, they decided to release him, which resulted in him being picked up by the Green Bay Packers. On March 28, 2016, he was signed to a one-year, $2.75 million contract with $875,000 guaranteed.

After his season on the Packers where he had 30 receptions for 377 receiving yards and a touchdown in ten games and five starts, he signed with the Oakland Raiders. In his 2 seasons with the Raiders, he ended up making the 2019 AFC Pro Bowl. He also set the Raider's single-game receiving yards record.

After a successful season with the Raiders, he was signed on a two-year contract to the Saints. In his first year, he finished the 2019 season with 43 receptions for 705 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns. After his release from the Saints, On March 18, 2021, the Chargers signed Cook to a one-year, $6 million contract with $4.5 million guaranteed.
