BIOGRAPHY
Jamil Douglas was born on February 28th, 1992, in Cypress, California. He plays offensive guard for the Green Bay Packers in the NFL. In his early years, Douglas attended Cypress High School where he was rated as the No. 65 offensive tackle in the nation by Scout.com. In his senior year, Douglas played as a tight end and halfback where he caught three passes for 79 yards and one touchdown and carried the ball four times for 19 yards, after being featured at left tackle during the early part of his high school career.
After he finished high school, Douglas committed to the University of Arizona State where as a redshirted freshman in 2011, he saw action in every game and played a huge role in punt protection. As a sophomore in 2012, Douglas started every game on the offensive line, helping to protect quarterback Taylor Kelly and open holes for an explosive running back trio. He also matured into a mainstay on the Sun Devil offensive line. As a junior in 2013, Douglas started every game on the offensive line which brought him to 27 consecutive starts as a Sun Devil. He helped block for Taylor Kelly and Marion Grice during their career years and was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team. In his senior season in 2014, Douglas switched from guard to left tackle where he started all 13 games. He was named to All-Pac-12 First Team and Phil Steele’s All-Pac-12 First Team, was a Pac-12 All-Academic First Team and was invited to the Senior Bowl as well as the NFL Combine.
After he graduated from college, Douglas entered the 2015 NFL Drat where he was selected in the fourth round by the Miami Dolphins where he played in all 16 regular-season games as a rookie with six starts. On September 3rd, 2016, he was waived by the Miami Dolphins but was signed to the practice squad a day later. On September 29th, Douglas was promoted to the active roster and on October 11th he was waived by the team. On October 18th, he was signed to the New England Patriots practice squad and on February 7th, 2017, he signed a reserve/future contract but was later released by the team on September 2nd. On September 5th, Douglas was signed to the Atlanta Falcons practice squad and was promoted to the active roster on December 29th but was later waived by the team on September 2nd, 2018. On September 3rd, he was signed to the Indianapolis Colts practice squad but on Septemeber 10th he was waived by the team. On October 3rd he was signed to the Tennessee Titans practice squad and on December 31st he signed a reserve/future contract.
