BIOGRAPHY
James Bradberry was born on August 4, 1993, in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. He is a cornerback in the National Football League.
During high school, Bradberry recorded 45 tackles, 11 pass breakups, and nine interceptions as a senior at Pleasant Grove High School. He was named All-Metro and first-team All-State in 2010 and team’s captain as a senior. Bradberry received the Jamal Jordan Classic Award and was rated as a two-star recruit by Rivals.com. During his freshman season in 2012, Bradberry started all 11 games at cornerback. He had 32 total tackles, including 22 solo stops. Bradberry intercepted two passes and had two pass break-ups. He was named to the Southern Conference’s All-Freshman team. During his sophomore season in 2013, Bradberry played in all 13 games, starting 12 games at cornerback. He had 26 tackles, including 17 solo stops. He intercepted two passes and had ten pass break-ups. In 2014 during his junior season, Bradberry started all 11 games at cornerback. He finished the season with 25 tackles, including 22 solo stops and 3.0 tackles for loss and intercepted two passes and had four pass break-ups.
The Carolina Panthers selected Bradberry in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. On May 10, 2016, the Carolina Panthers signed Bradberry to a four-year contract.
Bradberry made his professional regular-season debut, and the first career start in the Carolina Panthers' season-opener at the Denver Broncos and made six combined tackles and a pass deflection in a 21–20 game. He finished his rookie season with 59 combined tackles (47 solos), ten pass deflections, and two interceptions in 13 games and 13 starts. Pro Football Focus gave Bradberry an overall grade of 82.6, ranking him 20th among all cornerbacks in 2016. He also graded out as the top-ranked rookie cornerback and the Panthers' top defensive back.
Bradberry entered 2018 as a starting cornerback alongside rookie Donte Jackson. He started all 16 games, recording 70 combined tackles, a sack, an interception, and a team-leading 15 pass deflections. On March 26, 2020, Bradberry signed a three-year, $45 million contract with the New York Giants. In May of 2022, after being released by the Giants, Bradberry signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
