BIOGRAPHY
Jalen Ramsey was born on October 24th, 1994, in Smyrna, Tennessee. He is a cornerback in the National Football League.
Ramsey attended Ensworth High School before transferring to Brentwood Academy. He was a two-sport athlete who played football. On May 24th, 2013, in his final high school track meet, he shattered the Tennessee state record in the long jump with a mark of 25′ 3.25″, breaking the 16-year-old record set in 1997. In football, Ramsey was rated as a five-star recruit and considered one of the best athletes in his class. He received more than 20 Division I football offers from the most prominent schools in the nation. He initially committed to the University of California before signing with Florida State on February 6th, 2013.
Ramsey played and started in all three years he was at Florida State from 2013 to 2015. As a true freshman, he started in every game for the Seminoles and became the first true freshman to do so since Deion Sanders in 1985. Jalen recorded 122 solo tackles-15.5 of which were for a loss, three interceptions and defended 22 passes. He helped lead the Seminoles to two ACC Championships and a BCS Championship in 2013 with a victory over the Auburn Tigers in the Rose Bowl, defeating them 34-31. Ramsey was a two-time First Team All ACC selection, a Second Team All American, and a Consensus All-American in 2015. After his junior year, he announced his intention to forego his senior season and enter the 2016 NFL Draft.
Jalen Ramsey was selected in the first round by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was named the starting corner and finished his rookie season with 65 combined tackles, 14 pass deflections, two interceptions, and a touchdown in 16 games and 16 starts. Ramsey was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2016. He led all NFL rookies with 14 defended passes and was one of four rookies to return an INT for a touchdown in the NFL this season. Ramsey has registered 169 solo tackles, defended 44 passes, has nine interceptions for 99 yards and a touchdown. Jalen Ramsey is considered among the best corners in the league. He is vocal, confident, and backs up his talk by locking down any opponents that come his way. Ramsey is a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was named First-Team All-Pro in 2017.
Jalen Ramsey was traded to the Los Angeles Rams on October 15th, 2019. On September 9, 2020, Ramsey signed a five-year, $105 million extension with the Rams, including $71.2 million guaranteed. The deal made him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history.
In the 2020 season and 2021, he made both the pro bowl and 1st team All-Pro NFL team.
Ramsey finished the 2021 regular season with 46 tackles and three interceptions. On January 30, 2022, the Rams defeated the San Francisco 49ers to advance to Super Bowl LVI. Ramsey and the Rams would end up beating the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl 23–20, earning Ramsey's first career Super Bowl championship.
On March 12, 2023, it was reported that Ramsey would be traded to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a third-round draft pick at the beginning of the league year (March 15).
