BIOGRAPHY
Jacoby Brissett was born on December 11th, 1992, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He is a quarterback in the National Football League.
He attended William T. Dwyer High School where he played football and helped lead his team to its first state championship in his junior season. Helped his team reach the state 4A semifinals with a 12-2 record in his season year after passing for 2,743 yards and 32 touchdowns and earning himself Lou Groza Palm Beach County High School Player of the Year honors. Following high school, Brissett signed to play college football at the University of Florida on February 22nd, 2011.
Brissett played at Florida for two seasons and appeared in thirteen games from 2011 and 2012, before transferring to North Carolina State University. At N.C. State, Jacoby Brissett completed nearly 500 passes for more than 5,200 and 43 touchdowns in addition to rushing for 902 yards and 12 scores. He was one of three quarterbacks in college football to throw for 2,000 passing yards, 300 rushing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, and less than five interceptions.
Jacoby Brissett was selected in the third round by the New England Patriots with the 91st overall pick the 2016 NFL Draft. Jacoby Brissett spent one year in New England where appeared in three games and registered a 61% completion percentage for 400 yards. As a member of the Patriots, he won Super Bowl LI over the Atlanta Falcons as a backup to Tom Brady and was traded to the Colts the following season in a swap for wide receiver Phillip Dorsett. The Colts needed a reliable backup for Andrew Luck while he battled with ongoing injuries and Brissett was tapped to take control of the offense for the 2017 season. Brissett threw for 3,098 passing yards with 13 passing touchdowns and added 260 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. In August 2019, Andrew Luck shocked the world and announced his retirement leaving Brissett as the starter for the 2019 season. While representing himself, Brissett negotiated a two-year $30 million contract keeping him in Indianapolis through the 2020 season. Brissett is tall in the pocket and has all the mechanics you want in a prototypical quarterback and can help an impressive Colts group to success.
In March of 2022, he signed a one-year deal with the Cleveland Browns, before joining the Washington Commanders in 2023.
