Jabril Cox

BIOGRAPHY

Jabril Cox was born April 16, 1998, in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Raytown South High School, where he played quarterback who also played wide receiver, linebacker, safety, and cornerback on the football team.

Cox began his collegiate career at North Dakota State. He redshirted his freshman year as he moved to the linebacker position. As a redshirt freshman, he was named second-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) and the conference Newcomer of the Year. Cox was named the conference Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-MVFC after recording 91 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and 4.0 sacks with four interceptions, two of which he returned for a touchdown. Cox made 92 tackles with 5.5 was named first-team All-MVFC for a second straight season, as well as an All-American by the Associated Press.
Cox transferred to LSU as a graduate transfer. Cox recorded a sack and returned an interception 14 yards for a touchdown in the season-opening loss to Mississippi State. He finished the season as the Tigers' third-leading tackler with 58 tackles along with 6.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one fumble recovery, and eight passes defended with one interception. Following the season, Cox announced he would enter the 2021 NFL Draft. He was taken in the draft 115th.
