Grover Stewart

BIOGRAPHY

Grover Stewart was born on October 20th, 1993 in Camilla, Georgia. He is a defensive tackle in the NFL. 

Stewart began his playing career at Mitchell County High School in Camilla, Georgia. He was a two-sport athlete at the school, participating in both football and track & field. After high school, Stewart would committ to play football at Albany State University.

At Albany State, Stewart made an impact right away. In his sophomore year, Stewart produced total of 36 tackles with 21 unassisted tackle with 8.5 tackles for loss of 44 yards. Stewart also recorded five sacks for loss of 36 yards and also had a forced fumble and two pass breakups. Stewart was named to the  SIAC All-Conference First Team. In his junior season, Stewart recorded 39 tackles with 24 unassisted tackles and 7.5 sacks. In his senior year, Stewart recorded 29 tackles with 19 unassisted tackles and 15 tackles for lost and also added 7 seven sacks. He was named to the SIAC Defensive All-Conference First Team.

Stewart was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth round, 144th overall, in the 2017 NFL Draft. 

After being a backup in his first two seasons, Stewart became a full-time starter in 2019. He had his first career sack in Week 2 of 2019. He finished the season playing in all 16 games with 13 starts, recording three sacks, 30 tackles, and a pass deflection.

On November 28, 2020, He signed a three-year, $30.75 million contract extension through the 2023 season.

On March 11, 2024, the Colts signed Stewart to a three-year, $39 million contract extension.
