BIOGRAPHY

Eric Murray was born on January 7th, 1994, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is a Safety in the NFL.

Murray attended Riverside University High School and played college football at the University of Minnesota. Murray played multiple positions including defensive back, running back and receiver.  He helped lead his team to an 11-2 record and a City Championship.  Murray recorded three interceptions as a senior. He rushed for 444 yards and six touchdowns, while tallying 434 receiving yards with five scores and scored 27 total touchdowns in high school. He was named First-Team All-Region and First-Team All-State by the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association. He signed with the University of Minnesota on June 24th, 2011.

Murray played for the University of Minnesota from 2012 to 2015. He played in 52 games with 39 starts and totaled 192 tackles, two interceptions, 24 defended passes, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and two blocked kicks. Murray was named All-Big Ten Third Team his senior season and received the Carl Eller Award given to the team's top defensive player along with Defensive Back of the Year.

The Kansas City Chiefs selected Murray in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He made his professional regular-season debut in the Kansas City Chiefs' season-opener against the San Diego Chargers and recorded his first career tackle during a 33–27 overtime victory.

Murray was traded to the Cleveland Browns on April 1st, 2019. 

In 2021, he signed with the Houston Texans.
