BIOGRAPHY
DeMarcus Walker was born on September 30th, 1994, in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a defensive end in the National Football League.
During his time in high school at Sandalwood High School, he was named AP All-State First Team in 2011 and First Team All-Area by the Florida Times-Union after registering 14 sacks and 24 TFL as a junior. As a senior, he was Second-Team AP All-State in 2012, invited to “The Opening” on the Nike campus, US Army All-American, Prep Star Top 150 Dream Team (No. 38) and was ranked as one of the top five defensive tackle prospects in the nation by Rivals, ESPN and 247Sports. He chose FSU over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami, and USC, among others.
Walker paid college football for the Seminoles at Florida State University; in 2013 as a true freshman, he played in 12 games and started in three as a defensive end, and finished the rookie campaign with 18 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss and a sack, and also totaled three quarterback hurries.
As a sophomore in 2014 Walker was a defensive end and made great strides from his first to his second year, he played in all 14 games and made 11 starts, including the final seven games. Walker boasted 38 tackles on the year, including 27 solo stops, and had the second-most tackles of any Seminole defensive lineman.
In 2015 Walker put together his most exceptional season as a Seminole starting all 13 games at defensive end, established single-season career-highs for tackles, TFL, sacks, pass breakups, and forced fumbles. Walker registered his first career interception at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and closed out the regular season blocking his first career kick on a fourth-quarter field goal attempt by the Gators in Gainesville; he earned All-ACC second-team honors from the media and third-team accolades from the coaches as a junior.
In 2016 Walker cemented his place as one of the top defenders in Florida State history, finishing the season with 68 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and a blocked extra point, and capped his career with four TFLs including one sack in the victory over No. 6 Michigan in the Orange Bowl.
The Denver Broncos selected Walker in the second round 51st overall of the 2017 NFL Draft; on May 15, 2017, the Broncos signed Walker to a four-year contract. During his first season with the Broncos, walker played ten games, collecting seven solo tackles and one sack; made his NFL debut at LAC on September 11.
During his 2018 season, he played three games, recording two solo tackles out of four, one sack for 6 yards, and one fumble recovery. Walker joined the Chicago Bears in 2023.
