BIOGRAPHY
Davante Adams was born on December 24th, 1992 in East Palo Alto, California. He is a wide receiver in the NFL.
Adams attended Palo Alto High School where he played football and basketball. Adams lettered all four years in basketball and averaged 20 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists as a senior. In football, he played on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and cornerback. In two years on offense, Adams caught 92 passes for more than 1,500 yards with 18 touchdowns through the air. On defense, he recorded 44 tackles, two forced fumbles, to tackles for loss, and an interception. Adams helped lead his team to a CIF state championship as a senior in 2010. He received multiple scholarship offers and committed to play college football at Fresno State following his senior year.
Adams played two seasons for the Fresno State Bulldogs in 2012 and 2013. As a freshman, Adams led the Mountain West Conference in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. He was named MWC Freshman of the Year, Freshman All-American, and named MVP of the 2012 Hawaii Bowl. He set a Mountain West Conference record with 24 touchdown receptions as a senior which was eight more than any player in the country in 2013, and fourth-most in FBS history for a single-season. In only two seasons, Adams caught 233 passes for more than 3,00 yards and 38 touchdowns. Adams set Fresno State career records for receptions with 233 and touchdown receptions with 38. On December 27th, 2013, Adams announced that he would forgo his final two college seasons and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.
Davante Adams was selected in the second round by the Green Bay Packers with the 53rd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Devante slowly carved out a role in the Packer's receiving core in his rookie year. On January 11th, 2015, Adams set the Packers' rookie record for receiving yards in a playoff game with 117 in the victory over the Dallas Cowboys including a 46-yard touchdown. Adams has played every game of his career with the packers and has recorded 348 receptions for nearly 4,200 yards and 39 touchdowns. On December 29th, 2017, Adams signed a four-year, $58 million contract extension with the Packers. In 2018, Adams hauled in a career-high 111 catches for 1,386 yards and 13 touchdowns securing his third consecutive season with a double-digit touchdown count. Devante Adams has been selected to two straight Pro Bowls and has emerged as the primary target for Aaron Rodgers.
He had a historic season in 2020. He led the league in receiving touchdowns for the season. His 18 receiving touchdowns were the most since Randy Moss had 23 in 2007. His 18 receiving touchdowns tied a single-season franchise record with Sterling Sharpe's 1994 season and his 115 receptions set a franchise-best, usurping Sharpe's 1993 season. On January 8, 2021, he made the 2020 All-Pro Team first team.
In March of 2022, Adams was traded from the Packers to the Raiders.
Davante was selected to his 7th pro bowl in 2023 in his first year with the Raiders.
