Cornell Armstrong was born on September 22, 1995, in Inglewood, California. He is a cornerback in the National Football League.

Cornell Orlando Armstrong has four sisters, Veonica, Noel, Noreal and Elizabeth. He was an honor student at Bassfield Highschool. Armstrong helped lead Bassfield HS to a Class 2A State Championship and was named a Hattiesburg American First Team All-State and Clarion Ledger Second Team All-State. He recorded 62 total career tackles (46 solo), six interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

His Uncle, Eric Booth, also played football at Southern Miss. While in college he majored in sports management and business. He was a 4-year letterman (2014-17) and 3-year starter.

Armstrong was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round (209th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft. Armstrong joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2022.
