Corey Bojorquez

BIOGRAPHY

Corey Bojorquez was born on September 13, 1996, in Bellflower, California. He is a punter in the NFL.

Bojorquez studied at the University of New Mexico and is a punter that has played in multiple teams throughout his NFL career, such as the New England Patriots and currently with the Buffalo Bills. In his early years, Bojorquez lettered at Mayfair High School where he played football for coach Mike Fitch. He averaged 46.5 yards per punt as a senior with a long of 80 yards and put nine of his 31 punts inside the 20-yard line. As a junior, he averaged 48.2 yards per punt on 18 boots with a long of 67, while as a senior, he was named Second Team All-Suburban League, Second Team All-State and he was named to the All-League academic team.

In 2016, Bojorquez punted in all 12 games, averaging 42.4 yards per punt with just three touchbacks and 13 inside the 20 and forced 12 fair catches and has 12 punts of 50 or more yards. He made the second-longest punt in UNM history, uncorking an 80-yard punt that was downed at the 2-yard line against Colorado State and averaged 52.8 yards per punt on four kicks against Nevada with a long of 66, earning Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week honors. He also averaged at least 43.5 yards per kick in seven games, including each of the last six regular-season contests. 

After entering the 208 NFL Draft, Bojorquez signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2018, and was waived on September 1, 2018. On September 2, 2018, Bojorquez was claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Bills and was named the starting punter after the team released Colton Schmidt. He made his NFL debut in the Bills' season opener against the Baltimore Ravens where he had eight punts for 397 net yards for a 49.6 average. He finished his rookie season with 45 punts for 2,028 net yards for a 45.07 average.

On September 2, 2018, Bojorquez was claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Bills.
