BIOGRAPHY
Chris Jones was born on July 3rd, 1994, in Houston, Mississippi. He is a defensive tackle in the NFL.
Jones attended Houston High School in Houston, Mississippi, where he played high school football as a five-star recruit and was ranked among the top players in his class. Jones received nine offers from elite Division I football powerhouses including Alabama, Clemson, Michigan and many more but committed to Mississippi State University to play college football.
Jones played three seasons at Mississippi State from 2013 to 2015. He appeared in all 13 games with three starts and recorded 32 tackles and three sacks as a true freshman in 2013. In total for his career with the Bulldogs, Jones registered 102 combined tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks. Following the conclusion of his junior year, Jones decided to forgo his senior year and enter the 2016 NFL Draft.
Chris Jones was selected in the second round by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 37th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He finished his rookie season with 28 combined tackles, two sacks, and four pass deflections in 16 games and 11 starts. Jones was named to the 2016 PFWA All-Rookie Team for his performance. In 2018, Jones was named to the 2018 All-Pro team after finishing the season third in the NFL with 15.5 sacks, which led the Chiefs, along with 40 combined tackles, five defended passes, two forced fumbles, and an interception.
In 2022 Jones had five tackles, 3.5 sacks, a pass deflection, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery in a 19-9 win over the Cowboys, earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week. He was named to his third consecutive Pro Bowl. He was ranked 39th by his fellow players on the NFL Top 100 Players of 2022.
In 2023, he was named to his 4th Pro Bowl.
