BIOGRAPHY
Brian Burns was born on April 23rd, 1998 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is a defensive end in the NFL.
Burns’ older brother, Stanley, was drafted, by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft.
Burns attended American Heritage School where he played high school football. Over his junior and senior seasons, he had 135 tackles, and 28 sacks combined and led his team win state titles. Burns played in the 2016 U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He received 19 offers from elite Division 1 Colleges including Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin, to name a few. He signed with Florida State on 02/03/2016.
As a freshman at Florida State, he played in all 13 games and led all freshman in the country with 9.5 sacks, the most by an FSU freshman since 1977. As a sophomore in 2017, he started all 13 games and had 48 tackles and 4.5 sacks. As a junior in 2018, Burns started all 12 games, recording 52 tackles and 10 sacks. In 2018, he was named to Phil Steele's All‐America team, All‐ACC First Team and Bednarik Award semifinalist. He ranked first in the ACC and eighth in the NCAA with 0.83 sacks per game, while leading the ACC in tackles for loss. In 2017, he recorded 48 tackles, including 13.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two blocked punts, tying for first in the conference.
Brian Burns was selected in the first round with the 16th overall pick, by the Carolina Panthers in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The Panthers picked up the fifth-year option on Burns' contract on April 26, 2022.
Burnes signed a 5-year deal with the New York Giants staring in the 2024 season.
