Alexander Mattison was born on June 19th, 1998, in San Bernardino, California. He currently plays running back in the National Football League.

Prior to his college career, Mattison was named Three-star recruit per ESPN, Yahoo, Scout.com, and 247Sports.com. He was twice named to San Bernardino Sun First Team (2014-15) and was selected to play in both the Inland Valley Football Classic following his senior season.

During his freshman season in 2016, Mattison appeared in all 13 games, rushing for 328 yards and four touchdowns and averaging 4.9 yards per carrying and also caught five passes for 54 yards. In 2017 during his sophomore season, Mattison was named All-Mountain West Honorable Mention. He appeared in all 14 games, making nine starts. Mattison rushed for 1,086 yards and 12 touchdowns on 212 carries (5.1 ypc) and caught 28 passes for 284 yards and a score.

During his junior season in 2018, Mattison rushed for 1,415 yards on 302 carries with 17 touchdowns in 13 games. He was the Offensive MVP of the 2018 Mountain West Conference Football Championship Game after rushing for 200 yards and a touchdown.

The Minnesota Vikings selected Mattison in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
