BIOGRAPHY
A.J. Terrell was born September 23, 1998, in Rochester, New York. He is a cornerback in the National Football League.
He went to Westlake High school in Atlanta, Georgia. He excelled in high school football as a cornerback and wide receiver and became a 5-star recruit. He ended up playing in 2017 Under Armour All-America Game. Terrell gives a lot of credit to his dad for his success due to the fact that he always pushed him and set him up for success. After high school, A.J. committed to Clemson to play cornerback.
In his first year as a true freshman at Clemson in 2017, Terrell played in 14 games, recording 15 tackles and an interception. As a sophomore in 2018, he started all 15 games and had 53 tackles, three interceptions, and a touchdown. In his sophomore year in the National Championship, he returned an interception 44 yards for a touchdown. In his junior season, he returned as a starter and had 34 tackles and 2 interceptions. He was also named to the First-team All-ACC. Clemson lost in the National Championship his last year at Clemson. He decided not to come back for his senior year and declared for the NFL Draft. He was taken #16 by the Atlanta Falcons. This will provide a struggling secondary with the help they needed."
In Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints, Terrell had 5 tackles and a career-high 3 passes defended in the 27–25 win. In Week 11 against the New England Patriots, Terrell had his first interception of the season in the 0–25 loss. In Week 14, Terrell had an interception in a 29–21 win over the Carolina Panthers.[19] Terrell recorded his third interception of the season in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills.
On January 14, 2022, Terrell was named second-team All-Pro. He received an overall grade of 82.7 from Pro Football Focus, 2nd among qualifying cornerbacks in 2021.
