Precious Achiuwa was born on September 19, 1999, in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He is a forward in the NBA.

Achiuwa’s love for basketball began when he moved to the United States in eighth grade and his talent grew quickly as he entered high school. He was selected to play in the McDonald’s All-American game, where he led the East team in scoring 22 points. Achiuwa later attended the University of Memphis, where in his freshman year he played and started in over 30 games and was named the AAC Player and Freshman of the Year. During his freshman year Achiuwa averaged 15.8 points a game and 10.8 rebounds.

Achiuwa was selected with the 20th pick in the 2020 NBA draft by the Miami Heat. On November 25, Achiuwa signed with the Heat. 

On August 6, 2021, the Toronto Raptors acquired Achiuwa from the Heat via a sign-and-trade deal.

On 30 December 2023, Precious Achiuwa, OG Anunoby and Malachi Flynn were traded to the New York Knicks in exchange for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley and a second-round pick.
