Patrick Patterson

BIOGRAPHY

Patrick Patterson was born on March 14, 1989, in Washington, D.C.. He is a power in the NBA.

Patterson attended Huntington High School, and he took the school to a three-straight state championship. In his senior year, Patterson won his third state championship. Rivals.com considered him a five-star recruit. In 2007, he was No.3 power forward and No.17 player in the nation and named a McDonald's All-American. 

After high school, he went to play for the University of Kentucky.  In his freshman season, he averaged 16.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 0.8 steals while shooting 57% from the field. He chose to continue his career at Kentucky then going to the NBA draft. In his sophomore year, he and Jodie Meeks were a strong pair that season. On December 22nd, 2008, he scored a career-high 33 points against the Tennessee State Tigers. In 2009, Patterson entered his name to the NBA draft but decided to return to Kentucky for another season. As a junior, he improved his outside shot, shooting 35% from the point line all season. Patterson helped his team win the SEC Tournament and reached #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament since 2004.  In 2010, he earned his degree before he entered the 2010 NBA draft. 

On June 24th, 2010, the Houston Rockets selected Patterson.  In December, he made his NBA regular debut. Patterson had his first NBA start with scoring 2 points and grabbing five rebounds. The Rockets waived Scola, which made Patterson the starting power forward for the 2012-13 season. 

On February 20th, 2013, Patterson was traded to the Sacramento Kings, and on December 9th, 2013, the Kings traded Patterson to the Toronto Raptors. On July 12th, 2014, Patterson re-signed with the Raptors to a three-year $18 million contract. 

On July 10th, 2017, the Oklahoma City Thunder signed Patterson. On August 1st, 2019, Patterson and Thunder agreed on a buyout that would allow him to be an unrestricted free agent. 

On August 16th, 2019, Patterson signed with the Los Angeles Clippers.
