Ignas Brazdeikis

BIOGRAPHY

Ignas Brazdeikis was born January 8th, 1999 in Kaunas, Lithuania. He is a small forward in the NBA.

Brazdeikis began his career playing prep basketball at Holy Trinity CSS in Oakville, Ontario and Orangeville Prep in Mono, Ontario. He would be named back to back MVP of the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association in 2017 and 2018. As a junior he led Orangeville to the 2017 OSBA championship and won the tournament MVP award.

On November 10th, 2017, Brazdeikis would sign his National Letter of Intent to play colleigate basketball at the University of Michigan. Following the season, he was a 2019 Second team All-Big Ten selection, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and a Big Ten All-Freshman honoree. In his freshman season, Brazdeikis averaged 14.8 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 46% from the field.

On June 20, 2019, Brazdeikis was drafted 47th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, who then traded him to the New York Knicks. Ignas Brazdeikis spent the bulk of his rookie season playing with the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, averaging a team-high 20.9 points in 24 games with the team. He made his NBA debut on November 3, 2019.
