Bookers Starting Five
Phoenix Suns Charities introduced the "Devin Booker Starting Five" last year, an initiative in which five local nonprofit organizations will be granted $100,000 each to continue improving the lives of youth and families in need throughout Arizona. This has been made possible thanks to a generous donation from Suns guard Devin Booker, who announced a $500,000 annual contribution to Phoenix Suns Charities for five years during their annual gala, THE JUMP BALL
Pledged 2.5 million to Arizona families and kids in need over a 5 year span. Phoenix Suns Charities and the Phoenix Suns Social Responsibility Department are committed to improving the quality of life for all in our community and inspiring philanthropic culture through the Phoenix region. The Phoenix Suns accomplish this through community engagement that focuses on three pillars, Education, Sports & Recreation and Healthcare.
From helping hand out food for Thanksgiving to shopping with underprivileged kids during the holidays, Devin Booker has always reached out to the Phoenix community. He expanded those efforts even further during All-Star weekend as he partnered with Baby2Baby in Los Angeles. Booker joined in on the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service where he worked with Baby2Baby to help pack bags for children in need. Baby2Baby is a non-profit that provides basic necessities to kids zero to twelve years and old and will donate items to over 180,000 kids this year alone.
