DeAndre Jordan Jr. was born on July 21st, 1988 in Houston, Texas. He is a center in the NBA.
Jordan began his career playing collegiate basketball at Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas. Jordan averaged 15.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks as a sophomore; and 16.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, 7.0 blocks as a junior. In his senior season, Jordan transferred to Christian Life Center Academy in Humble, Texas. In his senior year, Jordan averaged 26.1 points, 15.2 rebounds and 8.1 blocks per game. He was a third-team Parade All-American, as well as named to the first-team All-Greater Houston and was a two-time all-state selection. Coming out of high school, Jordan was rated as the number 8 overall prospect, the number 2 center in the country and the number 1-ranked prep player in Texas by Rivals.com.
Jordan would commit to playing his collegiate basketball at Texas A&M. In his freshman season at Texas A&M, Jordan would start in 21 games. He would finish the season averaging 7.9 points and 6.0 rebounds. He was named to the Big 12 All-Rookie team and declared for the NBA draft just after his finish season.
With the 35th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Clippers selected Jordan. Since entering the NBA, Jordan has played for the Clippers, Dallas Mavericks and New York Knick. He is 9.6 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game in 10 seasons in the league.
On July 6, 2019, Jordan and the Brooklyn Nets agreed upon a four-year deal.
On July 12, 2022, Jordan signed with the Denver Nuggets. On November 22, Jordan grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds during a 98–97 win over the Dallas Mavericks. In Game 5 of the NBA Finals, Jordan helped the Nuggets defeat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals in five games en route to his first NBA championship and the Nuggets’ first NBA championship in franchise history.
