BIOGRAPHY

Collin Darnell Sexton was born on January 4th, 1999, in Marietta, Georgia. He is a point guard in the NBA. 

Sexton started playing basketball at the age of 3. He attended Hillgrove High School and then transferred to Pebblebrook High School. He helped his team win the 2016 Georgia Class 6A state championship game. 

Sexton went on to the University of Alabama. In his first year, at the SEC Tournament, Sexton scored 27 points against Texas A&M, including a game-winning buzzer-beater, then 31 points in a quarterfinal win over Auburn. He was named the All-tournament team. In 2018, he forgo his final three seasons and declared for the 2018 NBA draft. 

In the 2018 NBA draft, Sexton was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers. In July 2018, Sexton made his NBA Summer League debut with recording 15 points and seven rebounds. In March 2019, Sexton passed Kyrie Irving for 3 pointers made as a Cavs rookie with 76 against the Miami Heat. Sexton is the only rookie in NBA history to have played at least 2,000 minutes while scoring over 16 points per game on over 40% 3-point accuracy and fewer than 3 turnovers. 

He was named to the Rising Stars Game at the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend as a replacement for injured Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro, where he put up 21 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists for Team USA.

In the 2016 Men's U17 World Championship Team, Sexton won a gold medal. He was the MVP of the tournament. 

On September 1, 2022, he was traded to the Utah Jazz in a deal that included Donovan Mitchell
