BIOGRAPHY

Rowan D. Wick was born November 9, 1992, in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is a pitcher in the MLB. 

He previously played for the San Diego Padres. Wick attended Carson Graham Secondary School in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 19th round of the 2010 MLB Draft. He did not sign with the Brewers and attended St. John's University to play college baseball and after a year transfered to Cypress College. He played for the Canadian Junior National Team at the 2010 IBAF World Junior Baseball Championships and helped Canada finish fourth, he also played baseball for the Vancouver Cannon. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the ninth round of the 2012 MLB Draft.

After signing with the Cardinals he started his professional career as a catcher, in 2015 he was converted into a pitcher. Wick was claimed off waivers by San Diego in February, 2018 and made his MLB debut on August 31, 2018, for the San Diego Padres. On November 20, 2018, Wick was traded to the Chicago Cubs in exchange for Jason Vosler.

In the shortened 2020 season, Wick appeared in 19 games for Chicago, pitching to a 3.12 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 17.1 innings of work.
