Boys & Girls Club of Charlotte County
The Boys & Girls Club of Charlotte County was founded in 1997 to provide out-of-school programs for young people in Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda & Englewood. Donate Now To Help Shape Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.
The Poynter Institute’s Write Field Program, now in its tenth year, invests in young men in St. Petersburg, Florida, so that they become more confident and knock their school work out of the park. This free, academic year-long program teaches African American and Hispanic middle schoolers how to be better writers, communicators and students. They will study hip hop. They’ll meet a Tampa Bay Ray. With professional journalists as their mentors, they’ll even get better grades.
The Children’s Dream Fund was founded in 1981 with the single purpose of fulfilling dreams for children ages 3-21 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, and who live in West Central Florida. Dreams are referred to us by doctors, nurses, Child Life and Social Workers, friends, families and other patients.
