Kershaw’s Challenge is a faith-based, others-focused organization. We exist to encourage people to use whatever God-given passion or talent they have to make a difference and give back to people in need. We want to empower people to use their spheres of influence to impact communities positively and to expand God’s Kingdom. We believe that God can transform at-risk children and neighborhoods through the benevolence and impact of others. Since the 2013 season, Kershaw and his wife have hosted “Ping Pong 4 Purpose,” a charity ping-pong tournament at Dodger Stadium.

Prior to the 2011 season, Kershaw visited Zambia with his wife as part of a Christian mission organized by Dallas-based Arise Africa. After the trip, he announced his dream of building an orphanage in Lusaka, Zambia, which he called "Hope's Home" after 11-year-old Hope, an HIV-positive child Kershaw met in Zambia. To accomplish his goal, Kershaw pledged a donation of $100 per strikeout recorded in 2011. With Kershaw's then-career high of 248 strikeouts thrown during the 2011 season, he donated $492,300 toward his $70,000 goal. 

Teammates for Kids began in 1999 with the love and support of 67 Major League Baseball players who made a pledge to help kids. Since then, over 4,700 professional athletes from baseball, football, basketball, hockey, soccer, rodeo and racing have joined our team. "Once a Teammate ... Always a Teammate"

Big League Impact partners with professional athletes through unique, sports-related fundraising platforms to help people meet basic human needs like food, clean water, medical care, shelter, and education in an effort to save lives, restore dignity, and instill hope.

Shoes That Fit tackles one of the most visible signs of poverty by giving kids in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy. Together, we can make a difference to kids in need. We can alleviate this simple burden. We can stop bullying by making sure no child is wearing shoes that are too old or smelly or too inappropriate.
